今回は清拭時の英会話です。

Excuse me, May I come in? I’m here to give you a bed bath. (失礼します。入ってもよろしいですか？お身体を拭きに来ました。)

All right. Please come in. (はい、お願いします。)

患者A

あやぱん

OK. Then, please get undressed your top. Can you unbutton your top ? (それでは上着を脱いでください。上着のボタンを外せますか？)

Yes, I can. (はい、出来ます。)

患者A

あやぱん

Thank you. I’ll help you to do the rest, as you are on a drip. (ありがとうございます。点滴中なので、残りは私もお手伝いしますね。)

上着のパジャマを脱ぎ終える。

あやぱん

Please wash your upper body with this. I’ll wash your back. (これで上半身を拭いて下さい。私はお背中を拭きますね。)

あやぱん

Oh, It’s a little red around your hip. Does it hurt? (あれ⁉︎腰のあたりが少し赤いですね。痛みはありませんか。)

Not in particular. (特にありませんよ。)

患者A

あやぱん

If you keep lying in the same position, you might develop bedsores. Would you like to change your position after a bed bath? (同じ姿勢で寝ていると床ずれができやすいです。体を拭き終えたら体の向きを変えましょうか。)

Yes, I would. (はい、お願いします。)

患者A

あやぱん

You have a ureteral catheter so I’ll do genital wash. Because you may get infected from there, if you don’t wash it properly. (おしっこの管が入っているので、お下は私が洗いますね。きちんと洗わないとそこから菌が入って感染する可能性があります。)

院部洗浄終了。

あやぱん

It’s finished. I’ll change to a new diaper, so please bring your hips up. (終わりましたよ。新しいおむつに変えますので、腰をあげて下さい。)

I want to be able to take a bath sooner. (早くお風呂に入れるようになりたいな。)

患者A

あやぱん

That’s right. But It’s a burden on your body to take a bath. I’ll ask your doctor if you can take a bath after the result of your checkup will come out. (そうですよね。でも、今お風呂に入ることは、Aさんのお体に負担がかかりすぎます。検査結果でたら、Aさんがお風呂に入れるかどうか先生に聞いてみますね。)

I’ll pull your pants up. Please bring your hips up again. (ズボンをあげますね。もう一度腰を上げて下さい。)

I’ll put your laundry on the bedside cabinet. (洗濯物は消灯台の上に置いておきますね。)

All right. I have my wife wash the laundry later. (あとで妻に洗ってもらいます。)

I put your nurse call here. Thank you very much for your time. (ここにナースコール置いておきます。失礼しました。)

★脱ぐの動詞は、get undressed と take off がある。

上着のボタンを外せますか？
Can you unbutton your top ?

右肘を曲げてください。
Bend your right elbow, please.
★膝(knee)を曲げて欲しいときにも使えます。

袖を抜きますよ。
I take your arms out of the sleeves.
★両腕の袖を抜くときは複数形。片腕の場合は単数形にする。

腕を袖に通して下さい。
Put your arm into a sleeve, please.
★袖を通すは、put into を使います。

ズボンを下ろします。
I take off your pants.

ズボンを履いて下さい。
①Wear the pants, please.
②Put your pants up, please.
★詳しくは、ズボンを履く時はwear、ズボンをあげる時はput upを使います。

腰を上げて下さい。
Bring your hips up, please.
★腰はhip、腰の少し上は side(わき腹)、腰の少し下は bottom(お尻)です。

点滴があるので、お着替え手伝いますね。

少し待って下さい、点滴を先に袖へ通します。
Just a moment please. I put the drip bottle into a sleeve first.
★点滴は英語でdrip、IV(intravenous)です。

このタオルで顔を拭いて下さい。
Please wash your face with this.
★清拭は英語で、bed bath と言います。動詞はwashを使います。

ご自身で清拭できますか？
Can you wash yourself?

背中拭いてもよろしいですか？
May I wash your back?
★May I〜？は、Can I 〜？より丁寧な言い方

お下洗いますね。
I do genital wash.
★陰部洗浄は英語で、genital wash と言います。

お湯かけます。
I pour some warm water.

お湯は冷たいですか？
Is it cold?

お湯は熱くないですか？
Is it hot ?

おむつを変えます。
I change the diaper.

背中のシワを伸ばします。
I smooth wrinkles on your back.

体を横に向けます。
I change your posture to the lateral position.
★仰臥位は英語で、the supine positionと言います。
　posture＝姿勢
　lateral＝横の

他には、横向きに寝る＝to sleep on one’s side ともいいます。

背中にクッション入れますね。
I put a pillow on your back.

注意

例文は主に現在形を使用しています。状況に合わせて、未来形(will や be going to )に変えて話せるとより良いです。しかし、英語があまり得意でない人は、現在形で外国人患者さんに伝えても理解してくれます。伝えようとする努力が1番大切です。
